The General Duty Assistant is trained to handle timely administration of medication, assistance in daily routine of the infirm, management of the tasks of such infirm people, and providing a recognizable environment for recovery. The GDA learn to provide basic nursing care, and manage patients at hospitals, clinics, and old age homes or during recovery after an episode of ill health.
